Target? Beauty Supply Store? Online? Walgreens? Amazon? AHHHH! The constant struggle for so many individuals when it comes to their hair is that of finding the perfect products that your hair responds well too! Especially for individuals rocking their natural kinky,curly hair! I know it is for me!
As a result, I have spent so much money over this 14 months of being natural. So I started subscribing to CURLKIT. Its a natural hair product subscription that costs $20 per month. The good thing about this service is that it allows me to try out a variety of product samples to see what works for my hair and determine my HOLY GRAIL hair products for my hair regimen.
What that being said, I received CB SMOOTHE COCONUT HAIR MILK in my August 2013 CURLKIT.
At first, I just tossed it to the side, because of my initial impression of the CB SMOOTHE MOISTURIZING STYLING CREME that I received in my July 2013 CURLKIT. The moisturizing styling creme (shown above in the round jar) just flaked up in my twist out. However, I am going to give it another try, as I think I used it incorrectly. Anywho! I had done a twist out, and needed to retwist one night. Keep in mind, that my curl definition had been okay with my styles to this point...but not great like I saw other divas out and about, or on YouTube. Ex: my twist out I wore to the "Ladies Night Out" TV show taping.
So the bottle of COCONUT HAIR MILK was sitting there. I said, "what the heck.", and applied it to a section. Funny thing is, I applied it, twisted, and moved on to the next section, not realizing I needed to wrap the twist around itself. So I went back to the first twist and took it aloose. NO JOKE YOU ALL, this product worked SO WELL, my twist had already retained the curl pattern of the twist, and the definition was STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!! So I looked at the second twist and it was the EXACT SAME WAY!!!!
Needless to say, I twisted my entire head with this product! It does not really have a smell in my opinion. The next day, my twists were moisturized, minimal to no frizz, with PERFECT CURL DEFINITION!
I had never experienced my hair performing so well with a product! My hair stayed moisturized throughout the day, and I received so many compliments on it! I WAS EXCITED! It claims to ..."manage and style curly hair...keeping hair detangled and conditioned while adding body and shine. It reduces breakage and protects against heat damage. It is intended as a leave in to nourish and revitalize curly hair."
IT DID ALL THAT!!!! LOL!
So whats in it? That the first questions we naturals tend to ask! Lol! Well I will give you the first 6 ingredients, CB SMOOTHE COCONUT HAIR MILK contains: deionized water, PEG-75 Shea Butter, Glycerides, Vegetable Glycerin, and Avacado oil, and Coconut Oil. It also contains Coconut milk, silk protein, Aloe vera, and green tea in smaller amounts. It does not contain Silicone, Mineral Oil, Parabens, Artificial colors, or Synthetic Fragrance
This products gets 2 thumbs up from me! It will be a part of my regimen from this point forward. I think I may get the conditioner from them and try it out. If I do, I will review it for you guys as well.
The only thing thats a snag for me, is that I dont know where to find it when I run out!! Its not listed on the CB SMOOTHE website anywhere. Maybe its a new product they are deciding whether to keep it in the lineup or not.
